Wang Yi Meets with Foreign Minister Ricardo Luna Mendoza of Peru

On November 11, 2017 local time, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met at request with Foreign Minister Ricardo Luna Mendoza of Peru in Da Nang, Vietnam. Wang Yi said that President Xi Jinping and President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski met again yesterday, which charted the course for long-term development of bilateral relations. Both sides should continuously strengthen strategic mutual trust and reinforce exchanges and cooperation in various fields in a bid to promote sustained and in-depth development of bilateral relations. Wang Yi welcomed Peru to jointly push forward the construction process of Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific as well as Latin America to actively participate in the "Belt and Road" construction. Wang Yi also introduced major accomplishments in the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Congratulating on the successful convening of the 19th CPC National Congress, Ricardo Luna Mendoza expressed that General Secretary Xi Jinping's report to the 19th CPC National Congress is of historic significance, which offers proposals for dealing with global challenges and advancing global governance process, as well as provides an example for developing countries to accelerate their modernization. The Peruvian side attaches great importance to Peru-China relations and is willing to make joint efforts to well implement the series of bilateral cooperation mechanisms as well as deepen coordination and cooperation under multilateral frameworks such as the United Nation and in "Belt and Road" construction.

Both sides also exchanged views on the situation in Venezuela.
